I WANT TO EAT A NUT OF LAERMA!

Oh, man... there was just this thing on the CTV News with this child psychologist horrified at the popularity of realistic "first person shooter" war computer/video games, especially since the real war started... my response? Don't be such a pussy! These games are meant for adults (and older teens), not kiddies... if kiddies are playing these games, it's the parent's fault. Don't pussy down the games because of negligent parents.

And, of course, one of the complaints was that these games cast "non-white minorities" in a less than favourable light. Well... yes... if you're doing a game about the nastier parts of the world, then, yes, the bad people tend not to be white, though, since the heros in these games are almost invariably Americans (being the good guys in the "real life" world... unless you're an Idiotarian living in Chomsky-fantasyland), they tend to be ethnically diverse as well. But, if we must have more "white" terrorists in videogames, I'd love a game where you take out the IRA (or the "Real IRA")... or take out Raymond Villeneuve's weedy little band of separatist nerds, the MLNQ (who fancy themselves as being the modern FLQ). Or CointelproTOOL in "Assault on Indymedia" Yeah, that game would be cool.

Though there is one first person shooter the politically correct would approve of.
