I HAD ANOTHER BIZARRE DREAM...
Last night... well, okay, this morning (or early afternoon), I had the strangest dream since my dream about Al Sharpton fiddling with the air conditioning last month.First, I was watching some television show about several young witch girls who get their powers from the moon, but only when it's full, though they could use their powers to shift time so that the moon is full (but wouldn't that require power that they lack when the moon isn't full?). No, I don't think it was a dream version of Sailor Moon; it seemed closer to Charmed or one of those other trashy teenage supernatural shows.
Then there was an actual segue in my dream; the dream camera focused on the full moon, and then it changed to a crescent moon, and the camera pulled back (and went back to being my normal vision rather than being cinematic), and I was on the sidewalk outside of the local shopping centre here in Pincourt (Faubourg de l'Île shopping centre, formerly the Centre d'Achats Île Perrot shopping centre) just outside the doors on the northwest, near Canadian Tire, and people were looking up at the sky, and we were under attack from meteorites, but they were really slow-moving asteroids which weren't burning up in the atmosphere, for whatever reason, and they didn't have enough inertia to do much damage, and this big one (like the size of a subcompact car) just bounced off the side of Hart ultra-discount department store, and, in the dream, I was actually a little disappointed that it didn't destroy Hart, since that place is so "white trash" that it makes even the Pincourt Zellers seem all "hoity-toity" in comparison.
Memo to Hartco lawyers: the opinions of my dream self regarding the fictional dream Hart department store that just happens to be in approximately the same location as the real one do not necessarily reflect my own opinion of your department store chain in general. At least it's still nicer than Wise, the shoddy polyester nightmare of a store that was there before it.
I don't know what could have possibly inspired that dream; sure, I was watching the Star Wars DVD boxset that I got for my birthday the other week, but, so far, I only watched A New Hope and that doesn't have much in the way of asteroids.
Speaking of DVDs and my birthday, my brother Nick still hadn't bought my present, so, this afternoon, he phoned me from Metro Video, in the basement of the old Simpson's building which now houses the Famous Players Paramount cinema and Simons department store, and asked me which DVD I wanted, so I "talked" him to the specific unit in the anime section which would have Super GALS!, only they didn't have it. (Bottom line, America? The downtown Montreal Metro Video location should carry more copies of Super GALS!) So, I opted to get the first volume of Tenchi Muyo GXP, which I discussed way back in March about how I wanted to buy it but couldn't find it locally, and then again in June, when Pincourt Blockbuster actually had it for sale but it came with the box and I don't like spending $5-10 Canadian extra on a useless piece of cardboard. But I haven't watched it because my sister Alison and her boyfriend Sacha are over for Canadian Thanksgiving dinner and Sacha wants to watch the Baltimore Ravens vs. Washington Redskins game.
