YET ANOTHER CHAPTER IN MY JOB SEARCH...

Ooh... I mentioned a couple of days ago that I submitted my CV to the Chapters bookstore in Kanata.

Guess what?

They called me in for an interview on Thursday!

The downside is that, unlike the interview I had at the South Keys Chapters in August, it's going to be a group interview, kind of like a job interview version of The Dating Game, and I've never done one of those before, so I'll be even more anxious than usual. My brother told me to wear a tie, but I don't know if I have a decent tie, and, I have the nice dress shirt I bought late last winter from Mark's Work Wearhouse, and it's good for interviews, but I'm not sure if it's really a "tie" shirt.

I do hope I get this job, though. Of all the choices available for someone with my limited qualifications, Chapters seems to be the most pleasant place for someone like me to work.

No, I didn't just take this shot of the Champs d'Elysee in twilight because it has a McDonald's in it, though the presence of the McDonald's doesn't exactly detract from the photo.

I've been in a scanning mood the past couple of days, so I started another album in my Fotopic gallery: an album of pictures which I took in Paris on Bastille Day weekend in July 1997. They're not the same quality as, say, the pics I took in London in 2000; my trip to England (from where Nick and I took a weekend trip to Paris) in the summer of 1997 was the first time I had really "travelled" anywhere as an adult, and I was just beginning to get my bearings as a photographer. But some of them are okay; a lot of them, I took around twilight, so you get interesting lighting effects like in the picture of the Champs d'Elysee at near dusk above, where everything kind of looks silver and blue.

I could have sworn I wrote about our somewhat mishap-filled Paris adventure elsewhere in this blog, but I don't seem to have done so. I might, at some point in the future, write out a couple of paragraphs about it on the first page of the album.
