CLEAR CHANNEL SHUTS OUT CANADIAN LISTENERS...

Dang it, starting today, San Antonio-based Clear Channel seems to be limiting access to the live audio streams of its stations to American listeners only.

After I got home from work, I went to the home page of KOGO San Diego to listen to the final hour of Rush Limbaugh. I clicked on the "Listen Live" link as I do every day, but, instead of the media player window opening up, I got the following message window.

That's never happened before. So I tried KOGO's sister station in Los Angeles, KFI, and got the exact same Licensed Content Access Request window.

Blargh! I can listen to Rush Limbaugh elsewhere on non-Clear Channel stations (Chicago's WLS works for me), and I may, now that I'm working, finally get a new Rush 24/7 subscription, but it's still very bothersome for me since I also enjoyed listening to local San Diego hosts Mark Larson and frequent Limbaugh guest host Roger Hedgecock. And I won't get my daily fix of Corky's Pest Control commercials! Damn you, Clear Channel. (Shakes fist!)

Visit WMAL 630 AM. www.wmal.com. It's a DC conservative station with live streaming.
