PICS OF SENS FANS CELEBRATING IN OTTAWA...

On Elgin Street (nicknamed "Sens Mile" on this occasion), Wellington Street, and Parliament Hill.

Saturday afternoon's partying was a little premature, since the Ottawa Senators had just won the Stanley Cup semi-finals series against the Buffalo Sabres, but it's the farthest the modern version of the Ottawa Senators have ever got thus far.

I wasn't even planning on photographing this partying, I had just gone downtown because I wanted to check and see if the downtown branch of the Comic Book Shoppe had received (and whether they'd break street date on) the deluxe collector's box version of the first volume of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and also because I hadn't been downtown in over a week.

When I was at the Comic Book Shoppe, checking out the anime and manga selection and character collectables, someone yelled out "Sens Win!", and a couple of people started cheering. I stayed around in the store for a couple of minutes (and scored a Haruhi Suzumiya "UFO Catcher" plushie and a Sailor Mars keychain) and walked east on Nepean Street towards Elgin. I knew I would see quite a few happy people, but I wasn't really expecting a whole impromptu parade up Elgin.

Here are a few photos I took. You can see more in my "Ottawa Senators Celebration, May 19th, 2007." album at Flickr (and I have more photos to add).
