STEVE BRANDON SINGS AH MY GODDESS! WEEK!
It's now early May, and, while most of the world awaits the return of Spider-Man on the big screen, I'm more excited for the return of a Japanese comic book heroine of a more divine nature to my DVD player.
That's right... Peorth. (Eh, Keiichi can keep Belldandy... she's an overrated doormat anyway. Peorth is cuter and more playfully sexual.)
Anyway, to celebrate ADV Film's release of the first volume of the second Ah My Goddess! (Aa, Megami-sama) TV series, Ah! My Goddess Season 2, Vol. 1 - "Everyone Has Wings", this upcoming Tuesday, I think I'll sing a whole bunch of songs in "moon language" from the anime franchise.
Today's song is the full-length version of the 1993 Oh My Goddess! OVA series ending song, "Congratulations". I couldn't find a decent MIDI of this song, the two MIDIs that show up on every site being either a piano version of this song or a version that takes way too many liberties with the instrumentals, so I'm just singing along to the version recorded by the "Goddess Family Club", the group comprised of the seiyuu (voice actresses) for the three main Goddesses, Kikuko Inoue (Belldandy), Yumi Tohma (Urd) and Aya Hisakawa (Skuld). Believe it or not, it took me two hours to record a version I was semi-satisfied with... I actually tried singing in falsetto at first but couldn't keep it up for quite the whole song, so the final version is just me singing in a slightly effeminate but still male (re: gay) voice.
